i heard that a 4.0liter throttle body from a jeep would fit the dakota 2.5 liter, i was wondering which year of the 4.0 liter jeep would fit my 96 2.5liter dakota

I'm not sure it will fit a '96. The 2.5 liter four used in '96 and earlier Dakotas is a Chrysler design, not the Jeep 2.5. '97 and up (Gen III) Dakotas got the Jeep 2.5 and you can swap a Jeep 4.0 tb to those.
