Subject: PCM question/ 'Extra PCM'?? IP: Logged
Message: Just curious, I currently have the B&G Flash on my '02 R/T and extremely happy with it, but I can get a super deal on a pcm off a '99 r/t and wondering if any dealer can do a 'stock' flash so that it is compatible with my '02 and no codes will spit out?? That way I can have a spare if for whatever reason arrises, I may need it. thanks

Message: Big difference!! Immediately, better throttle response and seat of the pants feel. I have the M1 flash and she pulls right up to shift point. I have Gibson Stainless steel headers, Gibson Stainless steel catback with dual out, 180 stat, and K&N Fipk. My 2/2 drop from Ground Force just arrived and will be installed in the spring. Soon after, I'll be doing the throttle body upgrade(probably F&B) and 1.7 RR by Crowers. Flash worth it....do it!! Dave at B&G says average on the dyno 40 h.p.

Message: I have the regular BG flash on my 2002 R/T and can see no difference at all. I was very disappointed, Dave at BG told me not to get the M1 flash without the M1 intake, he said the reg flash on a stock intake would "make it a completely different truck". I consider it a total rip off. Actually, I think they took my $550 and done nothing to the PCM, it runs exactly the same as it did before the flash.

Message: texaslawdawg - you keep saying you're dissappointed on many posts and sign it in your name........I'm curious, having you tried calling Dave and explaining your dissappointment calmly and reasonably?? You keep cutting up the flash while majority are very happy with it. I've used 'search' features on many sites for B&G and 99 percent are very very happy. I'm sure Dave will double check yours at little or minimal charge. Just trying to help...........

Message: I have called Dave about my opinion.... twice. He insists that the flash is in there. The second time I talked to him he even said "the difference is so slight you would have to drive the truck immediately before and after the flash or have two trucks to do a A/B comparison." Then I questioned him about my shift points going from 4800 stock to 4900 after the flash and I was told they would be changed to 5200. He said "you have to adjust your TV cable for shift point changes". I am convinced that my flash or PCM is defective in some way because there are so many satisfied BG customers Ive talked to that have seen "incredible" results. I asked him if he would double check it and he said there was nothing that could have went wrong with the flash. Maybe Im just over looking the improvements, but honestly, I see no difference in performance.
