Message: I was told that it is possible to hook up nitrous to the EGR port on the M1. Anyone have any info?
Thanks in advance, Andy

Message: I really doubt that would work at all. The gas would probably pool up before it reached inside the intake. A much better place would be the IAT sensor hole located just below the TB. It wouldn't be as hidden, but I bet it would work. I believe the threads are close, if not the same.

Message: I read over on the delphi r/t forums that it is not a good idea to run it in the IAT hole. People were having lots of problems that way.

Message: If you want to blow up your engine you can do that, I would suggest your install the nozzle at least 6-10" away from your throttle body. A fellow R/T just knocked a chunk off his #6 piston cause he had his shark nozzle installed right above the TB.

Message: I doubt that was the reason for the blown piston. The only thing you would have to worry about by installing the nozzle in the IAT place would be your mixture, and making sure it is sealed with no leaks. If you follow your kits instructions for jetting, you would be fine. If you get too much gas in there (ie. switching the nitrous/fuel jets at installation), yes, your intake manifold will blow off...
As for the closeness of the nozzle to the throttle body...
Many kits have a spacer that goes directly under the airhat, putting the nozzle(s) 1" above the TB with no problems. Other kits have a plate that fits UNDER the TB, with no problems. And, there are other kits that inject directly into the MPI ports... So no, I very highly doubt the nozzle above the TB caused the hole in his piston.
Lastly, nitrous is very safe to use unless you get stupid with it or install it incorrectly.

Message: I agree with R/truck that the reason that the guy with the #6 piston gone is because it didnt have enough time to atomize and the #6 cylinder got too much nos. I have been running nitrous on my truck since November of 98 with no problems.I randomly run a 200 shot over the last year 1/2 pulling 2 1/2 degrees of timing, just finished new heads and the internals looked like new on the motor

Message: I also have been running nitrous for some time now, and I would have to agree with Joe. My NX kit came with a round spacer that is about 1.5" thick that fits between my TB and air bonnet. This puts my nozzles about 1" above my throttle body. I have ran up to a 150 shot, but usually run with a 100 shot to be safe. No problems here.

Message: Well if your kit is made for that location then so be it, but fabricating something on your own can be dangerous.
Our guy also hit the factory rev limiter, no gas and a pure shot of N2o. BOOM!
