Message: You more than likely have the NV3500 tranny. It's rated for 300ft/lbs of torque.

Message: Is that flywheel or ground? I remember seeing something about 300 HP to the ground you start having problems. My truck dynoed at 230 HP and 302 lb-ft and I have had no problems yet...

Message: truck has 81k on it now. i have gibson exhaust, K&N homebrew, opened up 68mm TB, HO intake HO cams, Bosch +4 plugs, no mechanical fan... (plus a shortbelt on that run, only good for about 5 HP peak) that is about it for performance... then slapper bars and spring clamps... I know I hunt for traction a lot but it is on it's secoond clutch and the HO stuff has been in for about 17k miles... It is also mostly highway but it revs out all the time as well...

Message: I wouldn't worry about it tweaked. Duner (the turbo 4.7L Dak) has the NV3500 tranny on his Dak. He's puttin out over 450hp from what I understand. You should be fine.

Message: I have the NV-3500 in my 2000 Dakota. The truck dyno'd 304RWHP & 351RWTQ. I've got my fingers crossed, stock clutch on 20,000mile truck. It's held up to dyno runs, and some rough driving on the street...
I plan on up-grading to a CF/DF clutch shortly. Hopefully the stock unit doesn't grenade before I get it.
If the weather holds out, I'll make a SLICK pass (courtesy of .alex.) this weekend in Atlanta. If anything tears it up, I imagine the slicks will do it. That's what AAA is for. Tow my butt home....hehehe
The tranny doesn't act like its under serious stress now though. I believe it will be OK. We'll see.
