In ontario they are passing a bill that will, outlaw all performance parts to curb street racing.
all contraban will be removed on the side of the road. Bill 241 section 172.2 will make any modification illegal, and put in the discretion of the cops. Please go to this site and sign your name

i have known about that for about 6 weeks now. i dont think they wil get away with it.
modding a dakota to have a few more HP will be illegal. but buying a stock viper with 500 HP will be legal because it hasnt meen moddified from the factory.

and lets say it DID pass. if i was "enforcing" the law. i wouldnt care about exhaust and cold air intakes. i would be going after aftermarket superchargers/turbos and the idiots on the street running NOS

I think they are really aiming at the nitrous on the street. To be honest, I think somebody watched Fast and the Furious one too many times!!
The nitrous doesn't bother be too much. I think my argument on other modification would it makes the engine more efficient and therefore more environmentally friendly. Have a pretty good feeling that would stand up in court. And besides, if you get caught street racing you deserve whatever they throw at you.

It is aimed at street racing, but the way the section is worded it give them the right to remove anything "commonly used for racing purposes".

I am from a small town in ontario but am now living in Ottawa. I am a student and sink every free penny into my truck wether is hop-ups or insurance. And I'll be damned if some idiot passes a law that doesn't allow me to enjoy my vehicle. Isn't that infringing on our freedom? I will be signing as soon as I finish this.

sorry kovz, yesterday i found out that i spun 3 cam bearings out of my motor so now i need a new block, sorry man i was having a bad day and misintepreted your post.
