Subject: Lightning Killer or Supercharger IP: Logged
Message: I would like to get some advice at which one to do. I understand the supercharger will be easier and quicker to install, but I wouldn't mind being naturally aspirated too. I'm very confident at working on my engine, but just wanted to know from those that have either one what they like about it. Any advice would help out alot. It's a '99 r/t w/ 45,000 miles.

Message: if you're interested in a t-trim blower kit for a 00 shoot me and email.
kit just needs air filter, electrics (msd6btm) and prolly a few butt connectors etc.
thanks!

Message: where do you live? the emissions laws in your area will make the decision for you... if you live in CA the blower is the only way to go... if smog dosen't matter get the heads, intake, t/b, and a big cam... and add a blower later...

Message: ive been debating the same exact question for about 7 months...and in the last 3 days i have come to my end decision.
im going with the ati blower.
i will add the lightning killer kit piece by piece over the next year on a different 360 block, that way should one of them crap out, ill have a backup. it will end up being cheaper, too..trust me.

Message: hehe..i dont have a block...hopefully can get my hands on a direct 99 replacement..thats going to be quite a costly project...like $6500 costly..at least.. so its most likely wishful thinking, but the blower is a definite...i cannot wait :)

Message: Easy question!
If it was a new engine then I would suggest a Supercharger.
Since it already has 40k I would suggest getting the lightning killer package. That way you're rebuilding the engine while increasing performance.

Message: I have been in the same predicament for about 2 months, finally I decided on a blower... I just bought the powerdyne setup w/ msd ignition, guages pod etc the whole shibang. I have a 00' R/T and I figure I still have alot of life on this block AND I'm still making payments on her (not for long) anyhow my theory is I'm going to wait till this engine becomes costly to maintain then tear it down and rebuild. I'm trying to kill 2 birds w/ 1 stone though, if the engine lasts another 5 years my son will be old enough to take part in the rebuild so for now it only makes sense for me to go blown.

Message: You should decide if your goning to get a SC or not before you build. if you build an engine that will run naturaly asperated. It's not going to run well with a SC. I say get the SC and then build your engine to your needs, especially if your want to run more then 10 psi.

Message: the t-trim is just the version of the head unit... its a more capable unit than the normal SQ series...
the mounting kits are listed as 97-01, i think in the 00 and later you have to reposition the cruise control components.
thanks!

Message: I would not get a supercharger. I, along with numerous others have had tuning issues with pretty much every supercharger out there. I have a 99 r/t and put a vortech s trim on it and it worked for about a week total in over a year of working on it. Some of them just dont work. I am going with building up the motor and a good shot of nitrous now. Nitrous is much faster anyways. So I would say either get a paxton novi 2000, the only scer i have seen 100% positive results with, or get nitrous and all the bolt ons.

Message: I have a KB and the answer to tuning issues is throw away the FMU that comes with it and buy something you can get tuned on a dyno or by yourself. after that every time you get another mod you re-tune and your running top notch. I had lots of issues just like most KB 5.9L owners. after you take tuning in your own hands it runs like a charm! But I Would say naturaly asperated is more trouble free and cheaper in the begining. But if your rich twin turbo is the only way to go.
