Message: where about in So. Cal... I am having a shop in San Dimas call Performance Associates do the machine work on my 360 I am swaping in... They do a lot of highend cars there... they also have a dyno and can custom tune the stock computer for great power gains... Sorry I don't have the # but they are in the book... You could also ask
Scott Q.... he gave me the name of his tranny and engine work but the info is at home.. I can give it to you later if you want.. I am in the same place as you... bought the truck new, now want a supercharger and bigger motor... good luck..

Message: I'm thinking it might be cheaper to go with a 5.2 swap. Correct em if i'm wrong, but will most of the stuff off of the 3.9, i.e. alternator, a/c pump, power sterring pump be able to be used on the 5.2?

Message: I don't have much $$$ invested... I have done some careful buying... I bought a complete durango drive train and sold the parts I didn't need, so I ended up getting the engine, 9.25" rearend w/ the disc conversion and made $100.00.. by the time I am done including the supercharger I will have probably $2000.00
that included the motor, new dual stage valve springs, 1.7roller rockers, forged pistond, cometic gaskets, and some other internal build up parts... with the new injectors and the comupter upgrades for the SC I will have $2600-3000 max...I don't think I am doing too bad.

Message: Hey waterpolo,
I got pretty much a complete 5.2 motor on it. Really good shape, and i'm thinking of selling it. Email me at dwworth@yahoo.com and maybe we can come up with a plan to put a 5.2 in your truck and get 360/408 in mine.
I everthing you need. All the way down to the TB. I have the exhaust and all.

Message: Hey Buzz - I think I know who you are ;)
How much do you estimate the actual swap will be?
I haven't gotten as far as asking my mechanic about that part yet. I figure it will have to wait til mid to late summer so I can save some more $$$ for things like the torque converter.

Message: The actual swap won't cost much at all... I am going to get new motor mounts as I have a crack in one of mine... I am going to do it with a couple of my buddies... won't cost much more than a few pizzas and a couple boxes of beer... as for the $$$ in the engine build up will probably be around $2000-2400 w/o the computer sutff... and then building the tranny... I would hope you would know who I am... j/k.... I think the mo showed up, I got a message saying that I have some unusual mail...

Message: Oh good. Let me know if it doesn't, I had a mixup with names and addresses, as I sent out some to 5 different people in one week. I'm kind of done with spending for a while.
Have you got a cam yet? I ended up getting that KRC cam, but it is going to be too much for my N/A dak, especially with our strict Ontario emissions laws. Let me know if you are interested in it - I got it for a really good price.

Message: I would love to put a big cam in my truck but with the smog laws in Souther California (probably much like Ontario) I don't think I will be able to with the blower... plus I think it would have too much overlap for a supercharger... My supercharger guy is a flake though so I am not even sure if that is going to work out right now... I am really pissed... I will let you know...

Message: The custom flash does sound like the way to go. I
have a bit of a dilemma. I have a 97 truck, I bought a
98 motor. The harness is a 98 and it came with a 98
Grand Cherokee pcm. I got a really good deal on a
mopar perf. pcm, but it is also a 98. Soooo - here I am
with 3 pcms, and I still am not sure whether any of
them will be compatible yet. My swap will be a while
yet - I really have to back off with the spending. LOL -
Kota on 20s, one of the joys of home ownership as
you will discover is that mortgage and renos don't
leave you with much for mods. ;)

Message: The shop I was talking to is performance associates in San Diams... I don't have their phone # handy but you could get it from 411... When I was there they had a Paxton supercharged R/T they were tuning, and some other high end cars... (real 427 cobra, ZR1 vette w/ supercharger) they do really good work but you pay for it... I didn't specifically ask about it but I will give them a call and see what they say... only down fall is there is a waiting list for their work.

Message: Is there anyone familiar with this trans ???
Is it worth putting a shift kit in ???
Is there a after market beefed up trans replacement you might suggest???
I just took it to a dodge dealer and they tell me it needs a actuator valve and sensor for the sum of $715.00 and I said forget it. These S.O.B's charge $115.00 per hour for labor only , what a joke. Just for looking at it which they call their diagnostic fee $115.00.
Thanks
