Message: Lakewood makes old style slapper bars for cheap. Also check Compitition Engineering and Cal-trac. Both of thess are nicer and tend to work better than slapper bars. This difference is definatly reflected in the price.

Message: Adam - If you decide not to take afi360 up on his offer, you can get lakewoods from SummitRacing.com, and you can get Cal-Tracs from krcperformance.com.
You might consider the Lakewood Heavy Duty, they are 2 inches longer than the standards, which fit our trucks better, and they are only 65$ from summit.

Message: Went to autozone and picked up a pair of chrome lakewood bars for $30. Had to put a piece of 3/4" square tubing in between the back bracket and the spring to shim it to fit right.

Message: Why are the cal-tracs from KRC $300. Are the cheap ones cheap for a reason??

Message: If they're the ones I've seen for $300 I believe that those are super heavy duty. Like for an ass pounding dragster pushing 8's or so in the 1/4. Lot of weight thrown down on those things when your pushin around 800 hp. Don't know if this is true just makes sense to me.

Message: The caltracs and CE bars are very well engineered and fabricated. They are also adjustable. I guess in this case you get what you pay for?

Message: $30 is what I paid for mine and they get the job done for me:) They say universal fit ( the lakewood bars ) but they're not. A little shimming and they do fit right.
