Subject: SuperCharged 2.5L IP: Logged
Message: I know for a fact that they make a supercharger for a 2.5L Jeep. Which I have heard from many sources is the same as our 2.5's. What I would like to know is if anyone has put the supercharger in their Dakota? I already have flowmaster exhaust, cold air, MSD Wires, Bosch +4 spark plugs, and will soon get a MSD Stacker Ignition. I want to know what I would have to do to fit the SuperCharger kit under my hood. Would I need a new hood? It didn't look like there was much room under the jeep hood and I think that ours are even more shallow than it is. Would I have to beef up stuuf like pistons? Any help Would be apreciated.

Message: look at www.avengersuperchargers.com . They have pics. If you pay attention , you can see that the space occupied by supercharger(height) is less that the your stock air intake. I´m thinking to have one but it costs $3,695....

Message: you should have plenty of room...many people with the 5.9 have superchargers and their engines take up a heck of a lot more room than the 2.5
hope this helps,

Message: I would give these guys a call:http://www.turbosystem.com/auto/pt/pt.htm since they make the best kits for neons and now for the PT Cruiser(2.4L)4cyl. You could probably get the kit modified for your application.

Message: I agree... With the airbox remove it looks like it would fit just fine. I would still like to know if I would have to beef up any other part of my engine to support the gain in compression, and power to the drivetrain. My best friend just killed his tranny in his Dodge Shelby because of all the nice power. I know for one thing that the tires I have on there now from the dealership wont take much more. Just about any big pebble I run over punctures a nice little hole. Not to mention that the sidewalls look like they wont even support the weight of my giant 4 popper.
