I need some quick cash. I am putting my PCM from my 2002 R/T up for sale. I just had it customed flashed by the famous BG Chrysler in Warren Michigan. From what I can understand, it will only work in 2002 R/T's. You can call around and make sure. The flash is the non-M1 manifold flash which includes: 24 degree timing advance, 5100 shift points at WOT, removed torque managment factor, and top speed limiter to 131. If you are not familar with the BG Chrysler flash, search this board for the reviews. Flash cost $650 for individuals, $550 for groups of five. Add the cost of the PCM itslef of $300 and your looking at $850 to $950. I need $450 and Ill pay for FED EX 2nd day air. I think thats fair. Scratch all this.....I just got off the phone with BG Chrysler and he says the flash is VIN specific and there is a possibility that the ignition key codes may vary from truck to truck and it may work in some and not in others. If you think there is a way around this let me know, he also may be telling me this so they can get more business

The vin has been flashed into that PCM it won't work in someone elses without a check engine light. Mine has a SKIM key and won't even start if the vin doesn't match.

chris: it definately will not work for a 4.7 only a 2002 5.9 and even then you would need to have the dealer re-program the VIN.

Are you sure the VIN can be re-entered. I purchased a used VIN flashed MOPAR PCM for my 99 5.9 Durango. The PCM will with another VIN. I spoke to the MOPAR tech line and they told me the the VIN could only be entered once into the PCM (though they were wrong in that they said it would not work in my vehicle so I take their info with a grain of salt) From several Dodege forums there have been a good number of posts on this subject. The consensus is that the VIN can be entered once but that should not affect operation. There was post from someone who has a DRB tool and he said that the PCM will indicate that a VIN has been entered and can't enter it again.
The key issue if a used PCM will work seems the factory security system. I don't know about the SKIM key. Mine only has the key fob activated alarm. The owner that I got the PCM from had the factory alarm. On another occasion (before I knew all this) I tried someone's MOPAR PCM in my vehicle for a few hours and it worked fine. His does not have the factory alarm. During that peroid I did not activate my factory alarm. My stock PCM would not start his Durango however. Something gets set in the PCM once the alarm is activated. This was also was confirmed by a poster on the Durando Owners Club forum where he does not have an alarm but the previous owner of the PCM did and it did not work. This seems to be the patten. The security key may set something as soon as the key is used.

The VIN can NOT be re-entered after it is put in once that is it. BG may have the tools but it will have to be sent away to have it done.

I have a used MP PCM on my truck as well, it had somebody elses VIN on it already and it works perfectly in my truck, no lights, no problems. I have no alarm what-so-ever and it's a 2000, these all may be factors. The best test would be to meet in person and try it. Seems like there are a lot of Texsas R/Ts out there.
