Message: some of the lebarons had turbos. It was the early body style... only problem was that they only came with an automatic so they didnt seem turbo charged..

Message: Had a few of them. Insulted ALOT of Mustang and Fbody guys with my "Ned Flanders" lookalike car.
At 30mph, when provoked, my 1985 Lebaron would roast the P185/70/14 tires like they were marshmellows at a summer campfire.
The t1,2, & 3 engines were setup for turbocharging.
An NA 2.5 engine wont hold up to much boost before pushing out a head gasket.
The '85-92 turbo motors were a pain to swap turbos, but other than that...fun cars.
You could realistically build an Omni or any K car to be a 12sec car for under $6k (including the purchase price)

Message: yeah i had a 85 shelby charger i purchased for $450.... put about $3000 into a all new motor with all kinds of goodies... killed many a mustangs and f-bodies. Every kid around here owned those and no one knew what kinda car i had. sleeper under ignorance.
"my 1985 Lebaron would roast the P185/70/14 tires"... no fair.... mine were 205/50/15s... lol
i might not of under stood your question at first... if you are looking to take a turbo off of a lebaron and put it on your 2.5 truck... it will work on the older ones but not the push rod magnum four popper.

Message: Intense, did you ever journey into the ghetto to get that thing??
I still miss my little sleeper sometimes as well-don't miss the expense of trying to keep tires and motor mounts in it!!

Message: I saw a picture on a website of a guy that had already performed this swap. I looked pretty sweet, I think he stuffed a T2 into it out of a daytona.

Message: 2.5ltr,
it wont work on yours because you have the magnum motor. It is a totally different motor from the 80s turbo cars.
Lab Rat,
i never did because i didnt feel that the car was worth getting shot at. and now that my truck is turbocharged... i am completely forgetting about it ;-)
justa4X2,
i would have to say mine was pushing low 13s or maybe 12s... it was getting about 270 hp out of a 2200 lb car.
