Message: Did the Dakota switch to a computer-controlled engine? Gen Is are Carburated, right? What year range would that be, I'm kind of ignorant about the older Daks... I really liked the idea behind Dakota340's sleeper, might have to try and build one of my own after I get a job. :)

Message: ok '87 - '91 there was carb or 2 types of tbi's single point for the 2.5L and dual point for 3.9L and the '91 5.2L. That computer was the SBEC (single board engine controller). In '92 they all go to MPI and that computer is the SBEC II.
