Message: i was thinkin about ordering a gibson system for my truck i have a 4.7L 2003 dakota 4x4 i know there not out yet, but heres the question... does it sound good and is it worth waiting till they have one which my guess will be say end of jan or feb? would it be worth the wait? i want something not incredibly loud but a head turner thats nice and tuned (i previously had a 94 Z28 3" duals, 1/2 catty no muffler, thats to loud for my truck anything under that will suffice) thanks for your imput all

I opted for a nice magnaflow muffler and kept the stock stainless pipes. It sounds GREAT! Not too loud especially at cruise. When I take off from a stop there is a nice rumble but not so much as it is disruptive inside the cab. It just sounds like there is some power under the hood.
I think you and I had the same thing in mind for the "head turn" factor without the obnoxious "noise".
YMMV

Message: I bought the Gibson 3" sngl. cat-back for almost 400 bux. I shoulda just bought the muffler and had someone "cut it in". Anyway , I like the Gibson. Its a stright through design , and has a nice mellow burble. Not too loud either.

Message: I have the Gibson Muffler on my truck and had custom piping cut up. Trust me you will be very happy with the sound and performance.
