Subject: 4.7 stalling IP: Logged
Message: My friend has a 4.7 liter dakota 2000 and just recently it started to stall on him when he came to a stop. But the truck runs fine at all other speeds. Do you guys think this could be a computer problem or Bad gas or what.
Please help Thanks.

Message: This is a notorious problem with the 2000 4.7. I also have one that does the same thing at cold startups and very rarely at stops. Four Wheeler magazine contacted DC about this and they said that they lowered the idle speed to try and get lower emissions on the 2000's only. Mine idles at 550 RPM which is way too low for a V8. Should be 600-700RPM. I wish there was a fix for this.
