Delayed Engagement in Reverse/Drive

Symptom: Slow or delayed engagements in reverse after vehicle sits for a while or on the first start of the day. On Mopar RWD transmissions the stock manual valve in the transmission does not allow for the converter to prefill in the Park position. This oversight will cause the slow reverse engagement and also converter bushing failure. There are ways to combat this one is the industry accepted practice of drilling a small hole between the Line Pressure and the cooler circuit which does allow for the proper fill. So while this method fixes one issue it creates another and that is converter drainback meaning it’s now easier for the fluid to drain back through this small orifice again exasperating another issue with these units, specifically converter drainback. However APS is now offering its Customized fix and that is a Specially Designed Manual valve and Steel Pressure Regulator with One Way Lube Regulation. This fixes all problems and better still there is are no holes to drill. Available separately or as part of APS Recalibrated Shift Kitted Valve Body
