Message: MysticCobra, i dont know where he is. I sent him an email about a week ago and havent heard from him yet. He has a BIG demand for his intakes from people on here and from Ebay, so he is more than likely VERY VERY busy trying to fab them all up. If u have questions, u can email me and ill try to answer them as best i can. I have one of his first Intakes he made so i might be able to aid u a little.
Btw, Do u own a Mystic Cobra??

Message: thats what i thought, here are my questions:
1) will this air intake tube fit an HO intake?
2) can we buy these directly from you without ebay? if so, how much $$$?
3) any extra $$$ to have the IAT relocator and a nitrous boss added?
4) is the nitrous boss able to be cappede for future use?
5) it's two pieces of tube welded together right?
6) shipped as one piece?
7) expected turn around time?
8) is all needed hardware included?
i need these questions answered before i can order. thanks
i will email this to you too.
and yes i do own a mystic cobra.

Message: I had received a response from NitrousSteve when I had most of the same questions and got this information: it is two pieces of aluminzed 3" exhaust pipe that is welded together.
It will work with the HO Intake as I have an one sitting in my shed to be installed and it appears to have very close to the same overall dimensions as the stock intake and a small bit in height will not be a problem.
This is not a put down, flame or attempt to take away business!!!!! The only thing I notice about his intake is that the down spout pipe(air filter end) is not mandrel bent so it has the common "kink" from using a pipe bending machine so the inside diamter at that bend is probably more like 2" creating a significant air flow obstruction and not the preferred "smooth" and equal diameter air intake. I may be wrong(more often that not lately:), It may in fact be mandrel bent, but in the pictures it sure doesn't look like it.
If I am wrong and you read this Steve, my apologies and please correct me.

Message: Wow! I just got my intake from Steve.... for once, I feel like I didn't pay enough for this. This is easily worth twice what I paid for it, beautiful paint job, mandrel bent all the way from the filter to the TB, great looking piece. Plus I like the design a LOT more than the Z-tube, b/c it goes straight into the TB, thus allowing the air to generate some torque-producing velocity. I can't wait to get this intake on my truck! :-)
I realize that steve is a really busy guy, and I had to wait a while for this intake, but it is totally worth it, trust me. Once I get it installed, I'll send out some pics.

Message: Cool, thanks for the correction on the mandrel bending, if so, then it is definately a quality piece that looks dam sweet. Let us know how u like it! Now just to make a heat shield(that doesn't ruin the good looks) of some sort that travels the length of pipe on the bottom to deflect some of that engine heat from "soaking" intake and warming air inside it and then box in the air filter in a "ram air" chamber to isolate it even further from the engine like the Volant Cold Air Systems do. Now if Steve could put together that system, I could see a $200-250 price tag as very reasonable. So Steve, wanna try to fab one up for my 02 4.7 like I described for $250, you look to have tig welding and painting abilities? Even just building a box similar to the Volant off your current design would work it appears, the heat absorption into pipe would not be a huge issue with the coldest air possible being pulled in.

Message: Just to be clear, the pipe does get a bit smaller in diameter on the lower turn (filter side) but it doesn't "bunch up" and become bumpy, it is still smooth.
Last time I spoke to him, Steve said he'd be working on a heat shield to seal the filter up to the inlet next to the radiator. He said he'd fabbed something up, but by the look of his intake, he's a perfectionist, and it will be a bit before he makes it perfect. I'll definately be buying a heat shield if he does make one.
