I hear most of the drag racing guys say they have had the "torque management" removed from their PCM and it makes the tires break loose and smoke. My question is "is this a good thing" ? Because I would think that you would want traction off the start with the least amount of spin possible. Im doing the BG flash soon and Im trying to decide to remove the TQ mgmt or leave it on. Can someone explain?

texaslawdawg, as long as you are going to run a sticky tire at the track, i would have TM flashed away. It hurts your 60' times by retarding the timing and it can also shut down the fuel if the Tm system notices a slippage or a problem in the trans itself. Also, TM retards the timing between shifts and it makes the trans seem to shift soft, if you know what im saying. You want your trans to shift as hard as possible to maximize ET's and tranny life. In my "Professional" opinion, id have the get rid of it.

thanks for the reply, I know it may be cool to some folks, but I dont want to smoke the tires off the start. If you're spinning, that means you're not going anywhere. I was just concerned if I remove the torque management, Im gonna be white smokin' everytime I get on the throttle from idle.
