Anyone had any trouble after the roller rocker install and having them break loose? I've already had 2 bust loose and its starting to be a headache when you have to stop on the side of the road and be taking a valve cover off.

If these are that much of a headache I'm putting my stockers back on!!

Are the rocker arms breaking off or is the rockers coming off the pushrods? Which roller rockers are they?

They're the Comp Cams rockers so they got this cheesy conversion stud kit from Crane and the stud that screws into the head (ya know the threads that you put the "Lock-Tite" fluid on) keeps coming loose. Meantime the rocker stays in its place but its just loose and w/ it being loose its just there hanging and doesn't open the valve.

You are saying that the STUDS move and therefore the rockers come off. Right?

I think I would contact Comp Cams and find out what is going on with the studs they supplied for the roller rocker conversion. Their is no way they should be coming loose.

Do you have washers or guide plates under the studs? They will come lose without them. If washers or giude plates don't help, I would change brands of stud kits. You will miss the rockers if you change back. They'er like having an extra passing gear. Be sure to Loc-Tite them. I cleaned the stud holes, applied Loc-Tite with the studs and let them set overnight before I installed the rockers. Hope this helps.

Even the Crowers come with a replacement ARP stud kit. If you install them as Deep Purple said, though, there shouldn't be a problem. Are you torquing them to the correct spec? Sam has reported that he ran with his for many problem free miles, and DakotaDan has about 17K on his...P
