Subject: InjectorS Malfunctioning? IP: Logged
Message: Hi everyone,
I recently took my 99 CC SLT to autozone to get my codes read from a check engine light that kept on mysteriously appearing and disappearing (OBD II scan tool). To my surprise and the employee's words "Oh S|-||T!", I had 9 errors on hand. It turned out that cyl #1-8 were causing a injector malfunction and cyl #8 was misfiring. I pulled out the plug for cyl 8, checked the gap and set it back into place (hopefully that solved that problem). The manager at autozone suggested to me that I had a bad pcm and that it caused those codes to appear. Has anyone here experienced this issue? Any recommendations for "fixing this?"
Thanks,
---Ed

Message: I would start by resetting your computer.
Unhook the negative battery cable, drink a beer, then re connect it.
Then go back and have them check for codes.

Message: What about your fuel pressure. multiple injectors not firing is a good sign of lack of fuel. I rarely here of injectors going bad. 9.5 out of 10 times, its fuel or electrical.

Message: one of the injector malfunction codes was: P0203. I believe this was for cyl 3. What's weird about this is that the check engine light comes on/off mysteriously. When I was attempting to go back to autozone to get rescanned, I started up the truck and the light was gone. Do you think this is possibly a electrical error? Also, do you think that the code would still be in the PCM despite the light being off.
Thanks,

Message: I had a similar problem except that #6 was misfiring. I removed my injectors and cleaned them and the problem went away. #6and #8 were the dirtiest. To much stuff gets by the sock I am going to install an inline filter on mine.
