Message: Anyone converted over to Automatic floor shifter from the column style, and if so what brand and Part #'s. Also cable selection choices and install details would be great.

just buy any brand floor shifter that comes with a cable and adapters for a chrylser 727/904 trannies. You will have to drill holes to mount the shifter and make a custom bracket for the cable to pull against.

Message: i have the 42re... but the shifter lever is the same for the 727,904,999,998,500,518,42rh,46rh,42re,46re but i am not sure about the 45.
The kit comes with a new shift lever that replaces the stock one. The bracket i had to make was were the cable gets bolted to, but not what the end of it attaches to.... its whats used for the cable to pull against to shift the gears....
i just ripped the stock shifter out (cheap aluminum mounting) and yes i just covered the PRND21 with a sticker (yes very cheesy). The actual shifter i have is the B&M Star Shifter, it has its own indicators.

Message: You can actually modify the stock shifter cable bracket and use that for the aftermarket floor shifter. Plus if you modify the shift lever coming off the tranny, what it allows you to do is keep the stock gear indicator. On my 2000 R/T, I installed a B&M Megashifter and the gear indicator works just like it did with the column shifter. Once you remove the stock column shifter there is a rubber seal that pulls down to cover the hole.
Myself and Glen Renzoni (who helped me install the shifter) are still working on the custom console to cover the shifter and work with the center console.

Message: I've done this with a B&M Mega shifter ( light truck version ) and it was a major pain in the a$$. I used some directions from this guy (Pacman) in Hawaii. He had some pretty detailed instructions on his website at:
http://community2.webtv.net/PacMac1/PacMacs99Solar/
I would sugest it only if you really really want it. The only major problems you'll run into are routing the shifter cable ( which comes in the kit ) and whether or not you'll need to modify the new linkage bracket that goes on the tranny. On my application I also had to tweak one of the tranny cooler hard line supplies on the tranny to make room for the new bracket.

Message: Yeah, just buy one of the T-handles with a button on it, then wire it in place of the stock one. Just cut the wires leading from the stock OD button and put the wires from the T-handle in their place. It works just like the factory OD button :-)

Message: For a picture of Glen Renzoni's shifter in his 99 Dakota R/T, check out:
http://www.primenet.com/~travis/shifter2.jpg
Glen's console is a hand made fiberglass console. It's a one of a kind. We played around trying to make one for mine, but it didn't come out that great. But with the pieces of mine, Glen's trying to get the console copied and made locally out of plastic (to more closely match the factory interior). The 2000 console is completly different. When we were installing my shifter, we put Glen's console in my truck just to see what it would like like (I want to keep at least part of the floor bins). See below for a picture:
