Subject: Dakota Quad Cab...wind noise IP: Logged
Message: Is anyone having problem with excessive wind noise at highway speeds? If so, is there any mod that will take care of it? What about the window visors?
What is causing this? Is it poor design of window fit into the channels?
Any thoughts?

Message: Roll one back window down and one front window down.. on oposite sides.. Air goes straight threw. No problem. ;-)
Bleh as far as noise. Get louder exhaust so you won't notice it ;-)
I can't hear the wind over my tires.
Only thing I can think of. Get a shorter antenna check the seals on your doors. I haven't tried the window visors.

Message: I bought WeatherTech WeatherFlectors for my quad cab and they actually increased the wind noise a slight bit. It's not annoying but there is more wind noise.
Do you have roof racks on your quad by any chance? I also have roof racks and they can make alot of noise. I just slide the cross-members towards the back of the cab and the air is deflected over them.

Message: working at the dealer, we found a lot of new / newer mini-vans (Chrysler) with wind noises, and come to find out it was because of the roof rack. Now I'm not guaranteeing you that this is causing your problem, but it is something to check.

Message: Stormin,
My QC is as quiet as a new Caddilac!
What are you talking about? Are you talking about the wind noise with the window DOWN? Hello, it's going to make noise!
Roll the Window up! I'm not at all trying to flame here, but, you're concerned about noise with the window down? Agian, roll the window up.
If you're talking about the noise with all the windows up, then sorry then, haven't experienced it.

Message: I drive alot on the highway (like 200 miles in a day) while towing and think this truck is pretty quite compared to others. I have is a wind/bug deflector on the front, but doubt it's making that much of a difference - but maybe it is!

Message: Don't add window visors if you think your quad is all ready too noisy. They add wind noise. As far as windows, if you have the front one down roll the one behind it half way down and that helps kill the reverberation of the wind.

Message: No. I dont have a roof rack.
Gee, never thought about putting up the windows to eliminate the noise. Thanks for the tip.
