Message: Superchargers increase gas mileage by making the fuel mixture finer.Just don't use fuel injectors that are too large.I don't know what size you should use though.

Message: Superchargers decrease gas mileage. With a supercharger (or a turbocharger) you are forcing more air into the combustion chamber. In order to keep the air/fuel ratio correct more fuel must be put in. In fact, with forced induction you want the fuel air ratio to be richer than normal to help cool the intake charge to suppress detonation. Vaporization of the extra fuel absorbs heat.

Message: Actually, you do want it to run a little rich to prevent running lean. But, under normal operating condition it will be unchanged, better, or slightly worse. I actually picked up 2 miles to the gallon with my vortech on a 99 r/t when running about 80 on the freeway. So gas milage shouldnt be much worse with a light foot. It will be hard to keep your foot off it though. GO for it, nothing else will make you grin like a SC

Message: I've never measured my 0-60 times so I can't really say. After putting on the s/c my mileage went from an avg of 16-17 mpg to about 14-15. However, after putting my catback on, it is back to what it was stock. It depends on how you drive. Like Daker777 said, it's tough to keep your foot out of it... boost can be rather addicting.

Message: I've decided to purchase a supercharger. Researching on supertweaks it looks like Paxton and Kenne Bell are the only options available for the 4.7L. Both state on their respective websites that gas mileage is not effected by a supercharger under "normal" driving conditions. Where gas mileage suffers is "on demand" driving (flooring it).
It is safe to assume that gas mileage will decrease. Personally, I like passing a Winipego on a two-lane highway in a mountainous area a little quicker. This is not blatant hod-rodding, this is a safety issue. (justification to girl friend on why I need a S/C).
