Yeah, I figured out the dividing part (opposed to multiplying), I was going to say... More hp at the rear wheels than the flywheel thats one hell of a drive train ya got there ;)

I was thinking though... that means the mach1 5 speed is pulling around 340 horse and I deffinatly cannot complain about that. But that would give the auto 362 hp, but my question is why is the 5 speed about a full second faster than the auto (as far as the mach is concerned)? 13.4 as opposed to 14.1(auto), maybe that auto time wasnt accurate?

hehehe :) Well bro when I get my mach ill be sure to hop on here and let you guys know all about it... Im still going to miss my truck though and if dodge decides to do something more with that 5.7 hemi ill deffinatly be back concidering another mopar.

And I guess the rumor is about half way through 03 or maybe 04 ford is supposed to have a modular 5.0 that will replace the 4.6.

I really wasn't that impressed w/ the Mach 1 as far as the looks go. Only newer stang that impresses me as far as looks go is the Saleen.
The GT, Bullit, Cobra & Mach 1 all have the same body style and pretty much same rims but just have different badges. (With the exception of the different shaker on the Mach thats about all thats changed)

Correction on the mach1 auto calculations... I forgot to take into concideration that it probably loses more power through the drive train to begin with.

Mike, Iv just always wanted a 70 mach1 so I figure this is about as close as I'll get... Thats why I hopped on the band waggon... I dont expect as many looks in it as I get in my R/T but its more for me to admire than the others.

I'd definatley get a Mach1 if it had over 400HP stock and was around 30,000. But I'm sure the Mach1 since its limited will be pretty high. If you wanted a fast stang I'd get the '03 Cobra...but I'm sure you have your mind set on the name of the Mach1...just rolls off your tongue haha.

Mach1 rolls in around 28,000... of course thats before the dealership gets it and jacks the price up... Of course though the dealership I'm dealing with now quoted it as 29,200 so thats not too bad in my book.
Supercharger is one less thing to have to worry about maintaining anyway. Trying to be optimistic about it. Besides my dad already has a GN in storage we mess around with everyonce in awhile when I'm back home.
Only supposed to be 6500 of em made in 2003 so it should be a rare one so thats a plus as well :)

Wow that is cheap for a new muscle car...I think the new GT's are around that price too but I'm sure the Mach1 is a little more. But yeah if U can get one for that much you definatley made the right decision and I'm sure that thing will respond to mods really well.
I've always loved the the throaty sound the mustangs have w/ a good exhaust system...can't beat that sound!

Ford Motor News said the 2004 Mustang will receive the new 5.0. I'm sure it'll be a DOHC engine, and it's supposed to have at least 330 HP in it's lowest trim. They're also supposed to have another V8 on top of that one, as well as the 3.0L Duratec V6 as the base engine.

Why did they ever drop the 5.0 to begin with? I mean it wasn't like it wasn't popular enough, my 87 GT had a stout engine in it.

They announced this month, that with certain things going on with Ford, they would delay the intro of the 5.0 Stangs until 2005. Should be in stores near you in late 2004.
I can't wait to see what they end up with. They have a lot in store for the GT's, special editions, Cobra, etc.....
Should be a lot of fun headed our way. And you know when Ford PLAYS all the other manufacturers play too.....It won't be long, and we'll be cruising to work in cars with GPS, integrated voice phones, etc,etc,etc... and it they'll run the 1/4 in 11 seconds.......Hurray for technology!!!

I'm really interested to see what this new retro stang will look like. I'm guessing they will follow the overall success with the new T-bird. Should make for some good driving in a couple of years.

i forget which one, but i know that one of the car magazines has drawings of the next gen mustang. it might of been motor trend. they look retro, and i would most definitely wait for the next style. anyway, ill check it out when i get a chance and let you all know.
