Subject: catback advice needed>>> IP: Logged
Message: I've got a '99 5.2 4wd that I bought new. It's been a great truck, but I'd like to add a catback system to give it a little more getup. The local muffler shop will do a 40's series Flowmaster with dual outlet, but it is a little too loud for me. They also carry Dynaflow ( I think that is the correct name) that they told me is not so loud. Is this brand a quality system? Also, what is the advantage of having a shop install a system versus a "kit"? The only kits I could find were for single pipes on the side. The shop system is for a daul outler in the rear of the truck. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks

Message: hey i have a 94 5.2 and i just put a cat back on mine, it helped mine out alot, plus it sounds great, and i also didn't want it too loud. I got mine done a midas cause a couple people told me that they had theres done there. They cut the Cat off and replaced it (it was bad) then the welded a y on then put two glass packs on, and welded texas tips on. One advantage of taking it to the exhaust shop is that every thing is welded on versus clamped on. I know someone who had tips clamped on and they were stollen. that would suck
