I was looking at truckperformance.com and saw that they have a Volant air intake system for a 4.7 Dak. The picture actually looks like it would fit the 3.9, 5.2, 5.9 TB design, not the 4.7 TB design but that could just be the picture. I have known about Volant for a while but never paid too much attention. Has anyone used the 4.7 Volant intake? It looks like a good design and the price doesn't seem too bad either. Bernd, I saw your name next to a DML post on a Volant intake but I couldn't open it. What do you think about this intake?

I dont have experience with the Volant, but I recently installed the Airaid Modular intake onto my 2003 4.7 Dakota. What a difference. I picked up almost 2mpg on the highway and the a seeming boost of horsepower at the pedal. I am very pleased with this particular unit.

I have a 2003 also did you replace the box and the tube from the throttle body to the box also.
