Message: I've got a 2002 4.7 liter QC and after much research I've decided to keep the stock pipes and go with a magnaflow muffler. I want to get their 5x11" oval body as this muffler is specifically designed for trucks and suvs and offers maximum flow with minimum noise (exactly what I want). I would like to get the single in single out as I gather that this produces the most gains. My problems is the only size the single in single out the 5x11" muffler comes in is a 3 inch diameter in/out, as you all know my pipes have a 2.5 inch diamter. My question is can the 3 inch in/out be easily modified to fit and still work just as efficient as if it were 2.5 to begin with or would I simply be better of with their same muffler that has a 2.5 in and dual 2.25 outlet?

Message: I have a 2000 4.7 and just put on 3in pipe from the Cat back with a 3in in/out 40 series Flowmaster. It works great and gave both a power adn incredible sound increase. Definitely step up in pipe size because the Cat quiets it down. Don't change Cat's because Dodge makes the highest flowing Cat out of any. They even flow more than aftermarket.
