Message: Well cleaning the cat is not going to help much if that is the only thing you are going to do. Internal Combustion engines are usually restricted on the intake and the exhaust. So there isn't really a change when you only unrestrict one side. You would have to feed more air trhough the intake so more gases can be expel through the exhaust. That put less stress on the combustion process. So before you try to break things that may not be reversible to fix, research on making you intake less restricted, like puting a K&N filter and also puting a high flow muffler like borla or magnaflow. If you increase the pipe size on your exhaust you may not even have to destroy your CAT!

Message: Everyone here tells you do this or don't do that.I'll just say that experience has got me through alot of s%$#.Anytime you remove or replace something having to do w/intake or exhaust delivery, you MUST expect a sacrifice somewhere and hopefully a gain (somewhere)in torque or horsepower. When 1 thing changes in a good place, expect others to do the opposite in a different place. Now,we don't have the most accomodating laws here in U.S.A...Enter the FDA and the EPA.They BOTH regulate the amount of fun we,as Americans, can have.So even if removing your cat will help(and I'm more than confident it WILL)it is illegal in this country to do it,but there are ways for Dudley Do-right to get around it like any outlaw could/would.I would suggest a true dual system with a couple of cat box's(see Marty Fletcher @ krcperformance.com)and some hi-flow cat's.This'll make the track and the smog patrol sh$% in their drawers ;I can't think of a better compromise.

Message: I wouldn't expect a sacrifice anywhere just taking the cat off, you'd have to open things up a lot more than that before you start trading low end for top. Go for it. I wish I had a set of bongos...
