Subject: KKRC performance has PP headers with O2 IP: Logged
Message: bung holes welded in. However, then the ad states "with dual kat box included". Why do you need the sims if you can still use your sensors? Thank You!

Message: because it gets rid of your pre cats. without the kat box's, you will get a check engine light.
you have to use the sensors no matter what, or your truck will not run
-Eric Injection is nice, but i'd rather be blown. 5.2L, 5speed. Powerdyne SC, 50mm TB, 2bbl M-1, 1.7RR's, MSD 6BTM, ciramic JBA headers, carsound cat, dumped gibson

Message: You need upstream O2 sensors to have the engine run right. It gets rid of the down stream o2 sensors.

Message: CW, the 02's have 4 sensors.. the kat box sends readings to the sensors in the Y-pipe.
i know you already know this...if i am wrong, can you please correct me.

Message: The cat box replaces the after cat sensors (down stream o2). It leaves the upstream ones in place as they are the ones that tell the PCM weather the the engine is rich or lean. What he is refering to is the same as what is on my truck. Sorry if you already knew all that.;)

Message: ok now im getting confused.
i understand that if you gut the cat (which is after the upstream O2) you will have to get a kat box for the down stream sensor... im cool with that.
now here is the question...in the 02 RT's. there is a total of 3 cats, and 4 O2 sensors. one cat for each bank on the Y-pipe, and the regular one, and 2 sensors in the Y-pipe and the upstream and down stream.
from my understanding, since the PPH headers do NOT have cats in the Y-pipe, you have to get a kat box to hook the sensors in the Y-pipe to.
THEN, if you gut the regular cat, you will need a 3rd katbox for the downstream sensor.
is this right?

Message: Your right Eric. The Katbox simms out the post O2 sensors and the pre sensors go back in the header pipes for the mixture, all I am doing is emulating the pre-cats. The third cat does not have any sensors and can be removed easily. Take care!

Message: The thing you missed there Eric is that the third cat has no sensors that monitor it. You can do with it as you please. There are only sensors before and after the precats. One before each precat one after each as well. That is where the four of them go.
