Subject: Changing my 3.92 to 4.10 IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2001 CC 4x4 4.7L,
I've been looking at changing my current 3.92 out to the 4.10, currently I'm running 31's, on my truck, am I going to feel a difference, or is this not even worth it?

Message: That's about 4.5% shorter gearing, and you'd feel a difference but...
You can't do it. 2000 and newer Dakotas use a Chrysler Corporate 205mm (8 inch) front end. Nobody makes gears for it except Chrysler, so you're limited to what Chrysler makes, either 3.55 or 3.92.
I went through the same search a while back and ended up swapping my 3.55's for 3.92's back in April.

Dan,
Thanks for the info, that sucks, but at least I didn't spend the next 8 hours looking for it.
