Message: I know of a sound 2000 RC R/T in a rare Yellow for sale for a decent price. In fact, the owner frequents this board often. It's the truck I wanted actually, but he got to it first.
I personally have no idea what that would cost.

Message: I've driven my truck in the rain quite a bit, and never had a problem except when the tires were getting worn down. Just have to learn how to feel what your truck is doing. Better tires than the stock RSA's are a must though. I've even driven my truck in the snow every winter, and never had as problem cept with the RSAs. Last year on the way to the national R/T meet in Topeka we drove through a big T-storm with lots of rain. Road was covered in water because it couldnt' frain off fast enough. I was still doing 80mph and never even felt like it was going to hydroplane. I had 275/55/17 Pirelli Scorpion Zero's on at the time. I now have Kumho ECSTA 711's on the truck in the stock size and they handle thw water great. Will only break loose wen I want them to and always regain traction quickly.

Message: Hey R/T, it's my Yellow RC that is for sale. I could even deliver it to the Seattle area. I was asking $15,000 but reduced the price to $14,000. Can't go much less because the payoff is still high 14's. It now has 16,900 miles on it and is in good shape except rear tires are almost to the wear bars. It has very few options besides A/C, mats, and HD cooling. Here is some bad pictures and my phone and e-mail address.

Message: PS, it's pretty much a virgin when it comes to mods. I have the MP PCM (along with the stock) and a 180 degree T stat and the IAT relocated to the air cleaner tube. I had the clutch fan off (which helps revs) but put it back on for possible sale. It also has a real nice professional window tinting job on it.

Message: Hey Hersbird, you are in the NW R/T group's neck of the woods! Would you like to join our email list? It's nothing too crazy but we'd love to have you aboard (we have 80+ members) as we only have one Montana guy so far and having somebody with a 2k SY RC would be really cool :O) We have some of the rarest R/Ts in our group actually: a blue 98 RC, had two 2k SY CC's and three AF CC's.

Message: A guy just moved to Missoula from the Seattle area with a IB CC R/T with some nice mods. He pulled up next to me the other day and I couldn't believe it. Seems like a cool guy, probably the one on the list. There is a used 2001 "L" for sale at the Ford dealer here so maybe we'll start to see more "real" (not lime green slammed Nissans) sport trucks in the area. I'll be on the list but I don't check e-mail very often and sometimes I delete the spam so fast I miss real messages. My e-mail is Hersbird@msn.com

Message: I've run the Falken Zeix tires on my truck in the 275/50/17 size. They are probably one of the worste tires I've used. The 420 treadwear just sucks for dry traction. They handled decent in the snow, and wet pavement, but not the best I've used. They wouldn't recover from a spin as fast as some of the other tires I've used.

Message: hmmm, thought they stopped making Dak's that come in Solar Yellow in 99 ? Was in line at the bank the other day and had a chick come up to me, walk up to my window before I get to the teller, and ask me if she can take a picture of my truck. And I'm like "Why"? And she's like "Did you know that there's only 6 Dodge Dakota Club Cab R/T's in Solar Yellow being driven in the U.S."? And I'm like "Uhm.... you must be mistaken... there's already 2 in this city, another I know of up in D.C.... there has to be more than---" "Well, can I take a picture of your truck anyway"? "Sure" Click-Snap-Flash... she was gone. That was pretty weird...

Message: Here are the build breakdown for the 98's and 99's. They did make the SY for the first month or maybe two of the 2000 model year.
http://www.dakotart.com/faqarticles/truck_counts.htm
So a bunch were made in SY for 99 but supposedly only 5 SY RCs in 2000 and a few more CC's.
I imagine there are a few other rare colors out there as well, as they didn't always wait for model year changes to cheane the colors. When the dropped IB late in the 2001 model year they switched to Graphite and Atlantic Blue, so I bet there are not many 2001 Graphite or Atlantic Blue R/Ts either. Then again I think there are more R/T orders late in model year (summer) as opposed to the biginning of the model year (fall) so something that is only offered the first month of production is going to be the rarest. My build date is 8/99 BTW but the truck is still a 2000 Dakota.

Message: Right on the money, Hersbird. 2k SY is very rare, proabably the rarest color made. We had 2 2k SY CC's in the NW group, and one was Canadian! Talk about rare there. I had a 2k AF CC, one of only 119 or so, and Canadian too so even rarer. I saw some 2001 Graphite CC's on the dealer lots but they are pretty rare too and I would say 01 AB are even more so rare. It's neat to have one of the rare ones :O)
