You will not get this repaired under warranty.

However, You should be able to get a "heli arc" installed for a reasonable price. This will rethread the stripped out head.

The labor to instal a new head will be as much or more that the cost of the parts.

I always use a small (3" long) piece of 1/4" fuel line to start spark plugs into the head. Just force the fuel line over the small end of the plug, then hand tighten the plug into the head. This will prevent cross threading.

If you try to start spark plugs with a ratchet, you could be in for some trouble!!

It's not a (heli-arc) that's a welding process. It's called a helicoil thred repair. And I wouldn't do it anyways, take it back to the dealer and if that's what they want to do let em that way they're responsable if a metal shaving/chip falls into the head and causes damage to the engine.

I also wouldn't reccomend the helicoil repair. You will have some of the old thread material get down in the head.
I used the helicoil on a racing motorcycle once (Maco) and it didn't last very long. The plug blew out.
