Subject: So I'm at the Dragway this weekend.... IP: Logged
Message: Warm sunny afternoon, watching my friends race their F-bodies down the 1/4 mile. They always talk about how awesome their cars are, and I try to tell them that trucks are awesome, but deafs ears are everywhere. Long story short, my friends WS-6 Trans-AM with heavy mods, lines up next to this Dak, older style, boxey type, Pre-1997, and I'm praying to baby jesus that this is a respectable run. The Dak peels out of there hard, and its close at the start. But I'll be damned if that silly Dak ran the 1/4 mile in just under 12 seconds. While the WS-6 came through at 13.5 and 25 mph less. The whole afternoon this Dak was killing muscle cars left and right. Made me proud and brought tears to my eyes. I know this little Dak definately has some stuff under the hood. But I'm wondering, can you actually get this kind of performance out of a original engine or are we talking about a new motor entirely? I tried asking the fella about it, all he said was, "It aint stock kid". Duh! Wish we was a little more question friendly.

Message: The guy that did my engine work has a '00 R/T w/ heads, cam & nitrous, best run was a 12.11 in the 1/4. So yes you can get that much power out of an original motor.
