Message: From flowmetrics.com.....
Q: What level of modifications to my motor will require a bigger, 52mm throttle body?
A: Bore it to a larger displacement (ie 440 cu in) or rev it to a much higher redline (like 7500 rpm)...Neither of these is very feasible. We have tested the 50mm throttle body in many different modifed trucks, including supercharged and nitrous, ported heads, Mopar perf. camshaft, 1.7 roller rockers, MPI manifolds etc. We found that the 50mm throttle body performed better than the 52mm ported OEM throttle body in every instance.
** So following this research, one should never use a 52mm TB on the 5.9L even if it's been heavily modified?
** And why do they only compare the F&B 50mm TB with a 52mm ported OEM, and not their own 52mm?
Thanks

The TB's have changed somewhat...but the engine still responds the same.

If you can try to find R/Truck (he posts here from time to time). He has just switched his F&B 50 for a 52.
I believe he has been having some probs with the 52 instal.
