Message: Well I haven't got to try it out yet,
must fill bottle up today at lunch. I have an open element air filter, with a 4" K&N filter in those crome things like the old school style (i have a dual scoop cervinis hood...cant figure out any better way to force air in yet...
so i put the nozzle on the bottom plate in the back up through it (tried to hide everything best i could.) Also..i had an idea... instead of putting that WOT switch on it...i wanted to ....use the arming switch..and then when i arm it....have another button to flip to turn it on...on the dash or something (arm switch in ashtray) ever saw those switches in like helicopters with the covers over them? like missle switches..lol. wonder where i could get those at?
any opinions on doing that in opposition to the WOT switch on the throttle connection?
God i cant wait to burn the rubber off the ol' pirellis heheheh
gonna have to get you guys some pictures...see what u think about my paint job

Message: I'd use the missile switch to arm the system. but you should use some kind of momentary to sparay the truck so incase anything happens you can remove your finger from it. leaving nitrous and fuel spraying after the throttle body closes is not a good idea.

I'd say you are absolutely right. (Can anyone say boom>?)
ok so which would be better, put that WOT switch on the throttle cable bracket (for lack of proper term) or under my Hippie gas pedal (just kidding....ok not totally kidding...ill have one as soon as i find one...hehe)
see the reason i was wanting another button is...that i dont really plan on using the nitrous till about halfway thru 2nd gear...and my foot is ALWAYS to the floor....
ok...just got a lightbulb...basically i can put that WOT switch under the pedal...and run till 2nd gear..(say 3500 rpms...) and THEN reach over and flip the arm switch right??
sounds good on paper..but like i said...i dont know that much about nitrous.... just that
1 it makes you go fast (always a plus)
2 its expensive
3 it will explode your airhat from what i read if something is wrong....
and
4 the nx tech confused me today..he told me i should have gapped the plugs at .035 instead of .045....is that true??

LOL, IntenseDak39!! but....... I didnt say weird noises, I said "weird, noises" and yes I have a few of both but not together. lol!!
You got it pretty right James, you don not want Nitrous in the intake under any situation other than WOT. Your kit didnt come with a WOT switch? i think it should have, mine did.
Just find a spot in the TB linkage support, thers lotsa room there.
Wire it with a master arm inside then to the WOT switch that way you can floor it but it wont activate untill you hit both being the WOT when floord then the master at a given point.
Thats how I've got it wired and it really works well in the exact situation you described.
Hope this helped. Good luck
PS: Did I mention gap @38 a few posts back? humm........

Message: nossteve I think you took my post wrong I was just saying some of the most respected and experienced 4.7l owners(not myself) have posted there responces a couple times I wasn't hateing. But if you are looking for information on a nitrous injected 4.7l the info is hard to find and usually is a bogus post(like some guy saying he runs venom2000 like a year ago when the returnless fuel system vcn2000 was just released)
I by no means consider myself a nitrous expert- but I have had a 95 contour on n2o a 98 contour on n2o and an 85 bronco on n2o(bogger). And every time I follow the instructions in the kit. and out of the kits I have had 2 nos and one zex and they all simply say two stage colder plugs and mount the nozzle six to eight inches from the tb.

Message: conig,
thanks, this is my first experience with nos.
i had alot of experience with superchargers.you are right there is not much out there on nos for daks.but i guess all the nos guidelines work on all vehicles and you have to tune to your application.i'd hate to learn something the hard way.
my truck is basically a street truck,i've had it for 2 1/2 yrs,and it only has 8000 miles.it has never been driven in the rain but once.i drive it to work and sometimes to lowes or take the trash.i show it some.i meant to use it as a "truck" because we needed one so bad.i sold my blown '98 mustang gt for it.but the hotrodder in me just took over, modifying, etc.i just can't keep one stock.our family car is a 2000 grand prix gt.i moified the exhaust and intake on it!
