3.55 GEARS. WHAT IS THE H/P#'S. IS IT BEDDER THEN

that is not quite right. the '92 was rated at 175 hp and 225 lb.ft. it is the last year of the non magnum engine. notice how the figures are identical to the current 3.9 figures!!!!!The then current 3.9 was 125 hp.

They don't rate as much but my 93 had as much power if not more. Hard to tell my 93 was a auto.

92-93 - 230 hp & 290 torque (larger exhaust manifolds and 3" exhaust) - intake manifold internals also different
94-96 - 220 hp @ 300 torque (different exhaust manifold-- smaller, 2.5" exhaust)
97-99 (last year of the 5.2L in a Dakota), 230 hp & 300 torque (same internals as 94-96, different programming in PCM)
'89-90 5.2L premagnum
'91 5.2L premagnum... 175 hp forgot the torque, a '93 and newer 3.9L had more torque and hp!

I like my '93. Vroom Vroom :-)
It has a 3400lb curb weight too. I took it to a recycling place and they weighed it. That was with a half tank of gas and no driver. I think.

The main difference between 93 and 97... 97 Was the first year for a Gen III body style-- Much heavier.
My '95 CC, 5spd, 5.2L weighed less than my '00 RT 5.9L, Regular Cab!!!
Made 13.98@98 in my RT this past weekend (2nd and final pass of the day). WOOHOO!

Yes my brother had a '97 4x4. It was a lot heavier. Even with 100K miles on my engine his didnt have the response mine has. He ended up selling it for a chevy because it gave him too many problems. lol

90-91: 170@4000/260@2000
92-93: 230@4800/280@3200
94-96: 220@4400/300@3200 For 89-96 issue
97+: 230@4400/300@3200 from 4wheeler magazine
PS: I saw people running wide front tires(255/60) on genII 2wds. How do you make they fit? What size/back spacing on rims?

No I am talking about a 93 club cab full size that would out run my 97 4x4 reg cab dak. That full size would rev to 5200 rpm and pull hard all the way. My 97 would give up at just over 4000. Now I am back to the engine that likes to rev again. I am much happier.

You should be able to hold your own against a x-cab 4x4 4.7l stick. You would be a car lenght behind a r/t 2wd. x-cab.
