Does any one know of any good books about hooking up our trucks. I think the mopar street truck book is great and very informational. Just wondering if there was any others on performance that are just as good. thanx

I have all kinds of books, it just depends on what you want to learn about. PERFORMANCE HANDLING by Don Alexander, MBI publishing co. has a lot of info on weight distribution, spring rates, anti-roll bars, tires and suspension adjustments. It would be a good by if you want to try auto cross,or make your truck to handle like a sports car. It will help you understand camber, caster, shocker settings, why a car (or truck) will under/oversteer and best way around corners.

THE DESIGN AND TUNING OF COMPETITION ENGINES by Philip H. Smith, Robert Bentley Publishings will tell you what makes a powerful engine in the design sense. It will give you info. into bore/stroke ratios, piston speeds, ring graps, differences in headers, cam timings, intake manifold designs and more. It's a little on the science side, but can answer the questions on why engine builders do the things they do.

PERFORMANCE WHEELS & TIRES by Mike Mavrigian, HP Books Publications
This book will tell you the difference types of tire construction, why a tread pattern looks the way it does and what it will do for you. It will help you decode the info. on a tires side wall and figure out load/speed ratings. It gives formulas on wheel spacing, tire sizes, actual speed, top speed, g force reads, final gearing and metric to standard conversions. The book talks about suspenssion settings, rim design/ constuction, wheel repair, wheel finish care and fasteners.

If your looking for power there is the set of books HOW TO BUILD HP Vol.1&2 By David Vizard,S-A Design Books. Volume 1 talks about picking a cam, Cylindr heads, Manifolds, Different carbs, High-flow Exhausts and more. Volume 2 gives indepth information about carbs, different intake manifold and how to modify them for a certain rpm range.

If your in to FORCE INDUCTION I have 3 book you might want to check out. HP BOOKS' TURBOCHARGERS By Hugh Macinnes, MAXIMUM BOOST By Corky Bell a Robert Bentley Publication and there's SUPERCHARGING, TURBOCHARGING, NITROUS OXIDE By Earl and Diane Perkins-Davis a MBI Publication. The first two books give indepth information on the different types of turobes, housings, sizes, and how to choose the right one for you. They give formulas to determine the boost levels, compressor air flows and the right set ups. The last book shows you the difference between the types of forced induction, manufactures and thier differences. It tells you why they make so much power and how to prepare your engines for big HP. The big differnce with this book is that it shows you what the different company offer with thier product and thier differences.

Since you have the MOPAR STREET TRUCK book you should look at the MAGNUM ENGINE book. The book cover some of the things in the other book like the speed parts but give more info on the assembly and modification of the parts.

Thats probably good enough for now, but I do have more books if you really what more. Some are about building cars, aerodynamics, ingitions, and big block racing mopars.

If you want to know more about the other books just ask in this message and I'll put them up.
