dont touch the valve. you dont even have to
remove the resevoir, it just makes it easier to
access the t-stat. before you install the new
thermostat, make sure you dont damage the
gasket on the existing. notch the new
thermostat to fit the existing gasket. and
install. you can use a drill or a dremel tool to
make the notch.

Fill it through the rad cap not the resivoir tank.

The bleeder valve is there to remove any trapped air that might be in the cooling system. To remove this air open the valve and fill the cooling system. When you see coolant coming from the valve, all the air is removed. Then start the truck, and let it run until it reaches operating temp, then double check the reserve to make sure its full. Remember never remove a radiator pressure cap if its too hot to touch.

Refill thru the radiator cap that is inline with the upper hose. Run the engine with the cap off for a few minutes. Put the cap back on and make sure the plastic tank at the right level. Run the engine untill you are sure it is warm and circulating and not getting hot. The temp should be just above the cold mark. After the engine cools off check at the radiator cap and the tank.
