Unless you have the full-time transfer case , you should never use 4wd on dry pavement. There needs to be some slip to the surface you`re driving on or else everything will want to bind up...then break.
Mine is an `02 QC with the AWD option, it`s awesome to be able to floor it under slippery conditions and have total control, especially if there is some jerk in a wanna-be hot rod next to you...the look on their face is priceless after getting smoked by a 4X4!

Not to mention that Dodge recomends you don't go over 55 MPH in 4 high.

Actually, dodge says you shouldn't shift into 4x4 at over 55 mph. They say nothing about a max speed in 4-hi. Just to see if it would work, I have actually pulled mine into 4x4 at over 70 mph (lever operated, its a 2000) and had no issues. 4x4 on dry pavement is only an issue because of turning. The front an rear axles habve no slip between them, therefore the tire traction causes binding in anything but a very wide turn. In a straight line, i.e. drag racing, this is not an issue. Additionally, the issue of breaking suspension and driveline components is exaggerated. You will experience increased wear, and you adversely affect the handling if using part time 4x4 on dry ground. You increase the chances of breaking something, but in no way does it mean that the first time you use 4x4 on pavement that your axles will break.

Any thing can break but it should be fine. Most 4wd units break wheel the tire is spinning and the tires grab all of a sudden. Are you really spinning the tires badly that you need the extra traction? If you did run you truck in 4wd You would probably run quicker ET but slow MPH. The extra drivetrain drag would suck up some HPs and result in the lower MPH.

thank for the info, i think i just use my dak to off-road since the 5.2 is kind of slow in 32" tires, anyway speed it´s just for a little fun, what i really like is sand driving. thanks.

Lattimer is right! since part time 4x4 locks all the wheels, yuo wil have excesive tire wear if you do turns on dry pavement often. But on a straight line is just like any other 4wd, with the advantage that all the power is distributed evenly on all wheels this is true at low end.At high speeds, the differentiation is inverse therefore causing low hp because the 4wd becomes a restriciton more than a help. Even knowing that, I have raced as I mentioned before in this post; in 4Hi with top speed of 97mph with no problems or consecuences.Of course on a straight line.I'm no stupid either!!
