Ok,I thought I'd pose this question to you Dak guys: I have a '98 5.9L Durango with only 37k. I've had the truck in several times for a mysterious oil consumption problem. It's burns about 1qt every 1000 miles. No smoke, no obvious leaks, and the intake manifold gasket has been changed twice. I also have changed the PCV valve with no luck. The last gasket change was only 5 weeks ago. My question is: could the gasket be blown again? or is there another reason my D could be burning oil? It seems to run great and there is no performance loss that I can notice. My mods include: Borla cat-back, Fastman TB, K&N intake kit, Autolite plugs, Accel cap and rotor, Accel coil, MSD wires, Mopar PCM, Mopar valve covers. It's out of warranty and I don't want to pay for a complete engine tear-down if something major is wrong. Any ideas????

could be the plenum (sp?) gasket.... I know that blown Plunum gaskets result in many of the symptoms youve described.

I think Russ could be right. I really don't think this will help, but are u running with synthetic oils? If you are, try normal stuff and see how that works. Good luck, hope you find the problem.

The intake mainfold gasket (plenum gasket?) has been already changed twice and still have the problem. Anyone else have an idea?
