Subject: check engine light / 160 t-stat IP: Logged
Message: I installed a 160 t-stat about a week ago and last night the check engine light came on. Since I have a 97, I was told to do the on, off, on, off, on trick with the key. I got a code 12 on my odometer. My manual says 12 is : Battery Power to PCM Disconnected. What is that, or is it a generic message. Any info is appreciated.

Message: I would guess the light is due to the 160 T stat. engine running too cold . Pcm cannot correct this. go back to the 180 and problem will go away. also check to see if all connections, from battery to other wires to the Pcm are tight and connected, more than likely the engine is running too cold.
