Subject: Special break in with HO cams? IP: Logged
Message: Is there any special break in required with the istallation of the 4.7 HO cams? It seems one should use regular oil not synthetic after install but what else is there? Thanks to those who have done the install and will help on this issue!

Message: I usually start the engine and run it between 2000 and 2200 r.p.m for about 30 minutes with 99 cent petroleum oil and after that I drain the oil and change the filter and refill with AMSOIL.
However I have NO experiance with the 4.7 so check with a CAM manufacturer for more info.

Message: They are roller cams, they don't require a break-in.
