My DAK has been idleing rough now for about three weeks. Sometimes it feels like it is going to stall. I had a 95 3.9l that also did the same thing is this a common problem or am I alone?

DK1,

There's a TSB for yours. Bring it in to the dealer.

No, I don't have it. I just remember reading about it. You'll have to get it from the dealer.

I have the same problem but mine is usually after
being on the go for a little bit and then when
sitting at the red likght i get the rough idle and
a drop in RPM. Will the fix (TSB) help this also
same with the idle problem. I was goign to set up
an appointment to have the new fix done, but its
probably just another flash and i am afraid of
getting it flashed again and afraid of loosing
anymore miles per gallon!!!!! let me know if
anytone get is it done and what happened!!! thanks...

I was in the local garage the other day any a guy was telling me that happened to his Durango, there is a meter in the back of the TB that should be cleaned every now and then. I don't know about the GenII kotas, so try it an see. It never hurts to clean something thats dirty (except the rust bucket in the yard held together by duct tape and bubble gum)

One should remove the TB every so often and clean the whole thing up. Use TB cleaner. Take the IAC off, that's what Boomer was talking about. Clean the pintle on the IAC without twisting it or it'll be ~$100 for a new one. Make sure you get all the soot or carbon off. Oh yeah, it wouldn't hurt to disconnect your neg. battery cable before doing this. This is 'cuz you need to disconnect your sensors like your MAP and TPS. While you got the TB off look down the holes to the bottom of your manifold. If you see a layer of oil you may have a leaky belly pan gasket, also under warranty. Leaky belly pan gaskets, common for the Dak's, causes rough idling, loss of power, and loss of MPG, so get it fixed ASAP.
