Subject: Scary thing happened with Nitrous IP: Logged
Message: I just got and hooked up my Nitrous setup (Nitrous Works) and ran a 25 shot to be safe and see if everything was working right and my friend rode behind me and he said when i let off the throttle after holding the switch down about 10-15 secs that a big bright red flame came out of my exhaust pipe. Is this normal? What would cause this? I know my solenoids are fine and their are no leaks. The system is setup right. Any ideas...JTeuton

Message: Sounds like unburned gas coming out of the pipe and burning off. Sounds like its running rich. Sounds like a messy backfire that may mean it's neot really tuned in just right yet. Did you use the correct fuel pill for the 25 shot? Maybe you went too big on the fuel side for just a 25 shot....

Message: Deff unburnt fuel.Really bad for your cat!!
You runnin a wet or dry system? if its a dry I cannot even imagine why you'd be runnin rich.
If its a wet sys then you need to lean it out with proper jettin (pill).
Also, you may have a fuel solenoid cuttin off to late if its a wet sys.
Whatever it may be you need to get it straightened out before it melts your cat.
Good luck, Scott

Message: There is no cat so its safe to say there is no problem? What else could it damage? Its just headers dumping into an ultraflo. You don't think it could be a timing issue do you? Also fuel/air ratio gauge says the jetting is fine cause it set in the middle of the gauge when i hit it. (Not in the green ,rich or the red, lean but in the orange area.)
