Hey J, as far as getting your dad to let you race, just do like I did. Come home with a street racing ticket. My dad told me he would rather I broke my truck at the track than raced illegally on the street. Just kidding. Ignore everyone telling you to race on the street. sure its fun until you get caught... In my state and county they put a new law into effect last summer. If you are caught drag racing on the street, the impound and auction your vehicle. Plus theres a $500 fine, 4 points and possible 93 days in Jail.
Its not worth it.
