Doing my first oil change ever, and my first oil change on my truck since I bought it. what kind of Oil filter do you guys recommend? My bud is going to teach my how to do it tommorrow. What kind of oil do you guys use? And yes. cost is a factor. Tell me everything I will need exactly.

Danny I run the K and N gold filter with redline full synthetic 10w40. Get some more miles on your truck before you make the switch to full synthetic, a petroleom based blend will be fine for the first 6-10,000 miles.

Personally i see nothing wrong with the Fram TG , TG = Tough Guard this is a step up from there plain one. 5.00 a filter and I like em. No Bashing me for my comment.. especially when changing oil every 3k miles, gets expensive.

Fram's have gone WAY down hill from what they used to be. They are using more cardboard and their anti drain back valve has problems. Ever since they got the deal with Wal-Mart, they've gone down hill.
Check out Wix, they make a great filter
