Subject: pulley ??...Bernd IP: Logged
Message: I read in a old post where you said 2000+ models had a different pulley than the older ones. I am referring to the crank pulley. I have seen the ASP pulley with the harmonic balancer made into it, but someone said that only late 2000 models are like this. He said the early 2000's use the old pulley and bolts onto the harmonic balancer. Is this true? Which pulley do I need (with or without balancer)? Thanks.

Message: I went through this with my 2001 5.9. I ordered and had to return the Jet pulleys.
Check your crank pulley. If the pulley has several small bolts (in a circle pattern around the main crank bolt) that fasten it to the harmonic balancer, you do not have to have the one piece unit.
If there are no small bolts connecting the pulley to the harmonic balancer, it is a one piece unit and you must buy the very expensive one piece unit from ASP.
