I have the jet chip 90002S (stage 2) on my '99 DAK
I was told that since our daks have "learning computers" it only keeps the performance of the chip for 250 miles until the computer realizes that somethng is wrong and it fixes the setting back to factory specs... Is this sh!t true??

thanks

I dont think So I have one and I still see the same gains in HP That would suck to have to reprogram your CD player all the time. I have the SH-99 and its a pain in the ass to redo every thing

No, not true.

Try it. Take the chip off, you'll see the performance go back to stock. The chip fits in-line from some sensor feeds, it 'alters' the information getting to the computer. The computer doesn't know anything is wrong, it just sees new information. So yeah, the computer -may- relearn the new settings in 250 miles or so, but it should run -better-.

I was using a Jet stage 2 for over 6 months and "would not leave home without it".

I also had a Stage 1 and would swap out the 1 and the 2 and then run without either one, so that I could compare performance differences.

The Chips made a very noticeable difference in my truck (5.9, see profile). The Stage 2 worked the best for my mods and premium gas. The Stage 1 actually performed better in my truck before I began adding lots of mods and required regular gas.

Last week I got the B&G computer flash ($530 plus shipping). WAY better than the chip. No comparison.

I may be selling my Stage 2 if anyone is interested. I traded my Stage 1 for some help installing Roller Rockers.

I bought a jet stage 2 chip, at first I thought it was great, then when I washed my truck I found out its not waterproof as the throttle sensor was acting screwy, so I took it out and the truck ran normally but when the computer relearned all the right settings it was back to just so-so, I tried the chip again after the computer relearn and it actually does run "better or differently", but there is more than likly something out there that will make a BIGGER difference, just wish I knew which one to get- Mike Leach, B&M, Mopar perf, Hypertech...
