Subject: K&N intake kit for 4.7 instructions rele
IP: Logged

Message:
Hello, I have the instructions for the kit from K&N for the FIPK for the 4.7. It shows what the kit will look like. I don't know how to post a link to it so any one that would like to see the instructions please e-mail me. Just to let you know the kit looks like the one from air-raid except it does mount from the throttle body . It uses an oval filter and the filter mounts where the air-raid filter does. They still say a few more weeks before the kit will be released. At least we have an idea on what the kit looks like now,

TONY

hey whats up,
i ordered an intake off ebay but the b*st*rds did not snd any instructions nor do they answer my emails, i was wondering if you could snd me these instructions your talking about, so that maybe i can get an idea. you see the MAF sensor is located in a plastic housing right behind the stock airfilter, which doesn't allow enough room for the air filter once the intake pipe is installed to the throttle bady,do you think i need to purchase an after market MAF in order for it to fit, thanx
p.s i have a '97 f150 4.6l

hope this helps. by the way, my $55 k&n drop in air filter got me about 5% hp increase, is 10% worth $295 to you guys, not knocking the cold air intake or you, just curious.

oh yeah,

chance, if the description for the listing you bought on ebay said or implied that your product was complete as store bought and included instructions i would leave those loosers a bad feedback. if you payed thru paypal try the buyers protection policy.

Mike,

5hp increase, with just a drop in? Did you dyno this, on the same day, same set of runs, etc, on a 4.7?

Waht were the actual nd after #'s?

Maybe you could post a digital camera picture of it like I did my stock and Superchips install.

mike m - 10% would be worth that to me, but I don't believe there is any cold air intake on the market that gives an honest 10% gain for our 4.7. Nor do I believe I saw 5% from my drop in; but the small gain I got coupled with never having to buy an air filter again made that worthwhile.
