Subject: SO, I guess the HO heads = no better?

Message:
Since I haven't heard from any of you parts GURUs around here( ;>) ), I am supposing that Chrysler only changed small things in the HO engine's cylinder heads over the regular 4.7L heads.

So, for a final point on this topic, didn't someone say earlier about the heads being better from 2000 and up or am I mistaken?? I have a 2002 right now, so I want at least as good before I have any port work done on them.... Is there any way to distinguish a certain year model of cylinder head by a code or date stamping somewhere?

I am about to buy some core heads to mess with and I want to know that I am at least getting the better ones to start with....

Then the ported heads and HO intake, If deemed better, will go on with the HO cams, which do have a positive following on this board of members that I have heard from so far..

Next comes that Ford Lightning Supercharger takeoff.... ;)

I would love to see some mid to low 12's... absolutely possible I believe with the supercharger...

I also believe mid 13's are highly likely with just the ported heads, HO cams, better intake and throttle body and intake tube. Exhaust might even help at this point, but nothing too radical...

Thanks,
Ryan
