Subject: shifting at 5,600 ??? IP: Logged
Message: I would like everyones opinion on my truck shifting at 5,500-5,600 rpm. This is an automatic shift, not manual. I know the redline is 6,000 rpm, but the beginning of the red on the tach is at 5,500. Will shifting this high damage anything. I'm referring to long-term damage as well as short-term. I have adjusted the tv cable so the truck shifts at 5,400 (where it is suppose to with Mopar PCM), but the light and medium throttle shifts are really sloppy. It almost feels like slipping occasionally. With the cable where it is now, all shifts are good. However, the WOT shifts occur at the above mentioned rpm. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
